Anatomy
Voxel-Man Brain and Skull atlases are the result of a research project investigating new computer-based techniques for representing the bodys anatomy and function. In contrast to current hypermedia systems, Voxel-Man is based on a space-filling virtual Body model which allows exploration in an unlimited number of ways. It is an ideal tool for teaching and studying anatomy and, in addition, its radiological appearance
5 Highlights of Voxel-Man at a glance:
- unlimited choice of views - including endoscopic and stereo viewing
- free cutting - allowing simulation of dissection, surgery or puncture.
- simulation of radiological imaging without restrictions for view direction of slice orientation
- immediate access to names, anatomical systematics, descriptions and histology by clicking to any point of a view
- export of user-generated image files for further use in teaching and learning
Perspectives
Although unique and novel, Voxel-Man is an ongoing project. Atlases of other parts of the body, such as the abdomen and the musculoskeletal system, are under development. Any new atlases and updates will be released according to the progress of the scientific work
